AB Projects isn't an app you use next to Microsoft Teams — the integration is the product. Each project is joined one-to-one with a Teams channel, and four pieces work off that link as one system: the tab (where you work), the cards (how the channel hears about it), the bot (who you can ask), and sign-in & membership (which just follow the channel).
The four pieces
The tab
The full task area at the top of the channel — List, Gantt, and Kanban views, task creation, comments, documents — without leaving Teams. The same views exist in the personal app and at blz.actionbridge.io (see Supported Platforms).
The cards
Task events post to the channel as Adaptive Cards (rich, interactive message cards) with the change, the reason, and an Open button. Replies in the card's thread sync back to the task.
The bot
Ask it for your tasks, today's deadlines, or team workload — in a personal chat or by @mentioning it in the channel. Details in AI Support Features.
Sign-in & membership
Microsoft SSO (single sign-on through your Microsoft 365 account) — no separate password. Everyone in the channel becomes a project member automatically.
How the channel hears about your work
By default, task creations, status changes, assignments, schedule changes, detail edits, and comments each post a card into the linked channel. The first card for a task starts a thread; later cards reply into it, so a task's whole history reads as one conversation. Two things are easy to miss:
- It's two-way. A reply typed in the card's Teams thread lands on the task as a comment — people who live in Teams never have to open the tab to respond.
- It's tunable per project. Each project can switch individual event types on or off, or silence channel posts entirely — see Notification Preferences.
How mentions work
You don't type @name in an AB comment. Instead, the comment box has a chip picker labelled Mention in Teams notification: pick the members, and they're @mentioned in the resulting channel post, so they get Teams' native notification. Only members with a Teams identity appear in the picker, because the mention is delivered as a real Teams @mention.
Membership and seats
Being in the linked channel is what makes you a project member — the roster syncs automatically when someone opens the tab, and per-member roles are managed in Managing Team Settings. Licensing is separate from membership: the first 10 users in a team are free, paid seats are Basic ($3/user/month), and members without a seat can view but not edit.
Link the channel once, and the tab, the cards, the bot, and membership all follow — the project lives where the conversation already is.
