A task that “disappeared” is almost never gone. Every member of a project sees all of that project’s tasks — there is no per-task “private” setting — so a missing task is nearly always about the view in front of you: a filter that’s still applied, the wrong project or view, or membership that hasn’t synced yet.
Work through these in order
1. Are you looking at the right project?
Tasks belong to one project. In a Teams channel tab you see that channel’s linked project only; in the personal app or at blz.actionbridge.io you may belong to several projects — make sure the one you expect is selected.
If you use the multi-project filter, confirm the right project is chosen there too.
2. Clear the filters — the most common cause
- Open the filter panel (the funnel icon above the task list) and clear anything narrowing the list: keyword, status, type, environment, and assignee.
- Set the complete/incomplete filter to “all” if you’re looking for a task you already finished — completed tasks are often filtered out.
- Tick Show omitted tasks. Omitted tasks are hidden by default, so a task someone marked omitted stays invisible until you do.
3. Check which view you’re in
The task area has List, Gantt, and Kanban views, and they don’t all show the same thing:
- Gantt only draws tasks that have valid start and due dates. A task with no dates has no bar — switch to List to see it, or give it dates (see Creating and Editing Tasks).
- In List, a subtask sits under its parent — expand the parent row if you’re looking for a child task.
4. Confirm you’re a project member
Project access follows the linked Microsoft Teams channel: if you’re not a member yet, you won’t see any tasks at all. Membership syncs automatically when anyone in the channel opens the AB Projects tab, and the sync is throttled (roughly hourly) — so if you were just added to the channel, your access may simply not have synced yet (see How Teams Members Become Project Members).
- Have any channel member open the AB Projects tab to trigger a sync, then refresh.
- If you were removed from the project but are still in the Teams channel, the next sync re-adds you — and vice-versa (see Adding or Removing Members).
- Every member sees every task in the project — there’s no hidden-task tier (see Who Can See What).
5. Reload to pull the latest
The tab shows the project as it was when it loaded — teammates’ changes aren’t pushed live into an open tab. Reopen or refresh the tab to pull the current list. In Microsoft Teams, switching away and back to the tab also forces a fresh load.
Can see tasks, but can’t create or edit them?
That’s licensing, not visibility. AB Projects is free for the first 10 users in your organization; beyond that, each user needs a Basic seat ($3/user/month). A user without a seat can still open projects and read everything, but is read-only — creating or changing tasks won’t go through. If that’s you, ask whoever manages billing to assign you a seat (see Managing Subscriptions and Billing).

If a task still doesn’t appear after a membership sync and a refresh, contact support with the project name and the task’s title or ID. But in practice, the vast majority of missing tasks come back the moment the filter panel is cleared.
