Research with AI takes a thin lead — maybe just a company name — and fills it in for you: finds the website, reads the homepage, and drafts a company summary, a likely contact, and suggested labels.
Research enriches a lead — it does not move it through the funnel. It fills the lead's own fields. The lead only advances to the Contact stage when you actually add a contact to it. This is the single most common point of confusion, so it's worth repeating.
What it fills in
- Website — via the Get URL button. Tries the lead's email domain first, then asks an AI (grounded in web search) for the official site.
- Company summary — a short description of what the company does, written into the lead's notes.
- Contact email & name — extracted from the homepage, skipping noise mailboxes like
no-reply@orjobs@. - Suggested labels — the AI tags the lead from your label set (e.g. Enterprise, Tech, Warm).
Verified, not just confident. A website the AI proposes is only saved if it actually responds and the page text mentions the company name. AI confidence alone isn't trusted — this keeps hallucinated URLs out of your CRM.
