Notifications and Reminders

AB Projects keeps you informed two ways: real-time activity posted to your project's Microsoft Teams channel, and a scheduled task digest delivered to you on your own schedule. Together they keep work visible without a separate inbox to babysit.

Real-time activity in Teams

  • Every comment and every task change posts an Adaptive Card to the project's linked Teams channel, so the team sees activity as it happens (see Adaptive Cards and Task Previews).
  • When you select members in the comment's mention picker, they're @mentioned in that Teams post and get Teams' normal notification (see Commenting with Mentions in Channels).
  • Replies in a task's Teams thread sync back into the task, so following up in Teams keeps everyone current.

Your scheduled task digest

AB Projects can send you a regular summary of your top open tasks — up to ten, ordered by due date, with overdue items flagged — across every project you belong to.

  • You choose the days and times. Enable any weekdays you want and set one or more times per day (e.g. 09:00, 16:00). Times use your timezone.
  • You choose the channel. The digest can arrive by email, as a Teams direct message from the AB Projects bot, or both.
  • It's a once-per-slot digest, de-duplicated so you won't get the same summary twice in a day.

This is a digest of your current open work, not a separate alert for each individual task's due date.

Where to configure it

  • Open the AB Projects Settings tab (the personal app) and find Task Reminders.
  • Set your notification method (email and/or Teams), then enable the weekdays and enter the time(s) you want the digest for each day.
  • These settings are per person — each member controls their own digest. There is no project-wide or admin-set notification default.
  • If you turn everything off, you simply won't receive the digest; you'll still see real-time activity in the Teams channel.

Tips

  • Pick one or two digest times that match how you plan your day (e.g. a morning start-of-day summary).
  • Set your timezone correctly in Settings so digests arrive at the local times you expect.
  • Rely on the Teams channel cards for moment-to-moment awareness and the digest for a periodic personal catch-up — they complement each other.
  • Use task mentions deliberately so the people who need to act get a Teams notification right away.

With real-time Teams activity plus a digest on your own schedule, AB Projects keeps you informed — the right amount, at the times you choose.
