Exporting and Accessing Project Data
AB Projects does not currently offer a built-in export of task or project data — there's no CSV download, change-log export, or activity-report generator for projects. This article explains how your data is preserved and the ways you can get at it today, and is honest about what isn't available yet.
What isn't available yet
- No Task List CSV export.
- No Change Log export file.
- No Activity Report generator or a Reports/Export menu in the project.
(CSV import/export does exist for the separate AB CRM / Sales side — leads and customers — but that's a different product surface, not project task data.)
How your project data is preserved
- Per-task change history. Every task change is recorded with who changed it, when, the old and new values, and the reason given — viewable in the task's detail panel.
- Teams channel as a durable record. Because every comment and every task change is posted to the linked Teams channel as an Adaptive Card (with the change diff and reason), the channel itself becomes a timestamped, searchable history you can scroll back through (see Adaptive Cards and Task Previews).
- Comments and attachments stay attached to the task and aren't lost when a member is removed.
Ways to get at the data today
- Filtered task views. Use the filter panel (keyword, status, type, environment, assignee, completion) plus the List, Gantt, and Kanban views to focus on a slice of work for a review or meeting.
- Programmatic access via MCP. AB Projects is AI-ready through the Model Context Protocol. A connected AI assistant can query tasks (search, list, read details) and report on them, which is the closest thing to pulling structured data out today (see Daily Digest and AI Assistance).
- Your scheduled digest. The personal digest gives a regular written snapshot of your top open tasks by email and/or Teams (see Notifications and Reminders).
Need exports?
If your team needs CSV/Excel export of tasks, an exportable change log, or period activity reports for reviews, audits, or BI, let us know — it helps us prioritize building it.
Until a dedicated export exists, the Teams channel history and filtered views keep your project data visible and reviewable inside Microsoft Teams.
